So on or around the weekend of 7/11, I headed up to Dallas for the SCA Kingdom of Ansteorra’s (covering TX and OK) Argent (25th) Anniversary coronation. There’s always a couple tournaments, a feast, and etc. This year, there was a big fireworks display, and some other stuff.
It was my first time ever to an SCA event, and first time in a tournament. The short of it: I had about as much fun as someone can with his pants still on!
I made first-time camping screw-ups in the dark, won about 40% of my bouts in 3 tournaments, wore my armor, met cool people, and slept under the stars.
